In this two day class you will learn the chinoiserie ornamentation technique. This technique is specifically based on the chinese influence on painting through out the world. You will explore the history of chinoiserie and the principles of laying down texture to impy age. You will create your own composition with specific scale and proportion in mind. You will work your way through a multiple of intircate panels. Chinoiserie is one of the more unique techniques you can employ as a decorative painter. Styles can range from loose and cartoony to intricate and realistic. You will conduct hands-on exercises to to develop and refine the chinoiserie technique.
