312-C Wood Graining II

Next Class: Fall 2008

$700.00

Class description
312-C Wood Graining II After you have attended the Level 1 Wood Graining course and have practiced those techniques, you are now ready to start applying those skills to realistic surfaces like cabinetry and crown moldings. In the world of faux wood, matching a specific species is only one facet of creating wood finishes. Understanding how a carpenter composes wood is as crucial. Designing the layout of your wood into settings that make sense is what is going to fool the human eye almost as much as the finish itself. In this two-day class you will gain experience and confidence in your ability to create realistic wood graining finishes. You will learn intermediate wood graining techniques and principles. You will review flogging, graining, and mediums. You will learn wood graining in reference to architectural composition. You will conduct hands-on exercises that will allow you to develop and refine your intermediate wood graining and compositional techniques.
