The Principles of Applied Arts (TM) Foundations Classes
The Foundations program is a creative, exhilarating decorative painting program for the person looking to change their life and become a professional decorative painter. This series of five-day comprehensive classes serves as a springboard for anyone's professional decorative painting career. The series will show students how to successfully manage marketing, the client interview, proposals, retainers, control samples, contracts, job execution, and how to make money right away. Each class in the series is $1,750 and registration closes the 15th of the month prior to class date. Register early as seats fill quickly.

Foundations I
Class dates: August 4-8, 2008, December 8-12, 2008
Foundations I initiates students into the decorative painting program with the following subjects: Preparation, oil and water patina/glazing, business/marketing, and textures. Upon completion of this course, you will have a thorough understanding of basic to advanced faux and decorative painting techniques and you will be able to make money as a decorative painter right out of class.

Foundations II
Class dates: September 22-26, 2008
Foundations II: Foundations II continues with subtractive color mixing, monochromatic ornamentation and distressing (furniture). This course will dispel the mystery of matching and mixing color and you will understand how to add distressed furniture finishes and ornamentation to your portfolio and increase your profitability.

Foundations III
Class dates: June 10-14, 2008
Foundations III takes students into the craft of faux bois (wood graining) and faux marbling. Beginning with Understanding Mediums, students will learn how materials affect the look of final product and how to choose materials that save them time and money. Applying their understanding of mediums, students learn both the skills needed to faux paint wood and marble and tips for making money with these techniques.
