Master Artisans Offer Classes During San Francisco Convention
Artists of all skill levels will find exciting class offerings at the 22nd annual Stencil Artisans League, Inc (SALI) convention to be held July16 – 21, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Airport Hotel in San Francisco. Each year the top instructors of stenciling, faux and decorative painting, plastering, gilding and other art forms gather in one city to offer five days of classes, lectures and special events. Attendees may sign up for a single class or fill their schedule to take advantage of the wealth on art knowledge and experience available in one setting. The classifications are: Artistic Stenciling, Murals & Trompe L’oeil, Faux Finishes, Decorative Finishes, Art Lectures, Demonstrations and Business Lectures.
The conference offers both professional and hobby artists the opportunity to learn directly from instructors who have been featured on national television programs, in books, magazines and DVD’s. This year over 50 renowned decorative artists and business people will offer dozens of classes at the beginning, intermediate and advanced skill levels. Information about all the teachers is available online, along with the entire catalog of classes. The catalog and a registration form may be downloaded from SALI’s website at www.sali.org. This is the first year that online registration has been made available and it promises to be a popular method to choose classes. However classes do fill up quickly so interested artists are encouraged to make their selections soon.
SALI is an international organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the arts of stenciling, faux finishing and related decorative painting. In addition to the wide array of classes, an Expo will be open from Wednesday evening July 19 through Saturday, July 21 with vendors who offer the latest paints, plasters, glazes, tools and techniques. Those who attend the Expo will have the opportunity to “Play with Product” learning specific techniques directly from vendors.
