Recommended precursors
Do I have to take the precursor courses?
It is recommended that our professional students attend the suggested precursor courses listed at the bottom of every class page before attending that specific class but it is not mandatory.
Do I have to take the classes in order?
It is also recommended that you attend the classes in order by number if you are a professional decorative painter but it is not recquired.
What makes class order important?
There is a lot of core information that we feel is necessary for the students to have prior to attending other classes. The class numbers are there to show the order in which we recommend students take all of the classes.
What will happen if I decide to take the classes out of order?
You will explode!(Just kidding) In the classroom if you ask a question pertaining to information you would have received by attending a suggested prior class the instructor may ask you to attend that course as opposed to answering your question. This allows the instructor to keep the flow of class going and ensures that the students that have attended the classes in order are not hindered by the decisions of others to take the classes out of order.
Do students take classes out of order a lot?
Yes! Students from all walks of life and all levels of experience attend classes at the School of Applied Arts. Our system was designed for optimum learning for all. Taking the classes out of order is very common.
